Newport, August 26, 1782.  Mr. Barker, Yesterday being the
anniversary of the birth of the great and illustrious ally
of theses states, I trust the following ode will not be
unacceptable to many of your readers, [signed] Crito.
AN ODE.  On the anniversary of the birth of the King of
France, Navarre, &c.

Again the auspicious day returns,
Each breast with glowing ardor burns,
And hails the welcome morn,
On which propitious heaven intent,
